May 23, 2020: *** Plight of a discredited victim of workplace harassment! ***
I had given a peek at the struggles of victim of #workplace #harassment in my previous #WriteUp. A peek at their struggles until they decide to "#SpeakUp" or "#MoveOn". Well the truth is, the struggles for them are there to stay!
Ever wonder what will be the best case scenario for such a victim? Please take this as a #ThingsToDo exercise for the #lockdown and share your suggestions in comments, perhaps it might be of help to someone in dire need!
To my mind, in real world there is no #BestCase scenario for them. A victim cannot walk out of this situation without losing something very dear to them. The only question is, what compromise will be least #hurting and most easy to live with for the rest of their scarred lives.
Once the victim reports the incident, they have to go through the investigation phase having to relive the horrors of that incident over and over! Exposing the slightly healed wounds in the hopes of restoring their broken #SelfRespect, but in fact seeing whatever little was left of it being killed piece by piece by the cruelty of the defendants! Kudos to the fortunate few who finds peace at the end of all this! For others up against person of position and influence, having their case investigation dumped and buried by tampered evidences, hostile witnesses and every other trick in the #book or some dumped even before getting a hearing, the journey ahead is even dark. They have been earmarked "discredited victim" for the rest of their ruined lives.
Following this, the #perpetrators confidence shoots through the roofs making their trolls, taunts, gloating and personal attacks bolder and more lethal. Finally, after losing everything to the "#System", the victim is left with no choice but to break all ties and walk away!
